Last weekend a Nub News reader contacted us with concerns as to why the Thai Orchid has seemingly shut for no reason, they had tried to contact the restaurant on their social media pages but had no response.

I tried to contact the restaurant over the phone and email to see if I could get a reason for their closure but had no luck, the next day I received a response saying that my email had failed to deliver despite repeated attempts.

After trying the restaurant again over the phone I listened to a fairly puzzling answerphone message: "We are unfortunately now closed, we would like to thank all our customers from the bottom of our hearts, for all your support and kindness over the last three years.

"We have loved serving you all, keep your eye out for us. This won't be the end."

Cornwall Council and Falmouth Town Council have been contacted to see if there has been a notification of closure.
