Men attacked with bottles during night out in Falmouth

Fighting in Falmouth on a night out over the weekend led to two men reportedly being bottled and needing medical treatment.

Police are said they are investigating following two alleged incidents of men being attacked with bottles on Church Street in the early hours of Sunday morning (23rd).

The incidents took on Church Street, near Club International, with one man being taken to A&E for further treatment.

A separate incident took place shortly after with a man sustaining a head wound from a bottle - but he refused to engage with emergency services.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Nub News:

"Ambulance contacted the police at around 1:30am on Sunday 23rd January following reports of an altercation having taken place in Club International in Falmouth; the ambulance crew were treating a person who had sustained a facial wound after being struck by a bottle.

"The victim, a 19-year-old man was taken to A&E for treatment for his injuries.

"Officers are also aware of a separate incident that took place in the same area at around 2:25am. It is believed that a man had sustained a head wound after being struck with a bottle but he refused to engage with emergency services.

"Police initially arrested a man in connection to both these incidents, but following questioning at the scene the individual in question was subsequently de-arrested.

"Enquiries continue into this incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact [email protected] quoting log number 84 23rd January."
