Man suffers potentially life-changing injuries following collision in Falmouth

A serious collision over the weekend involving an electric bike has sparked a police appeal.

The incident on Saturday (5th) left a man in his 30s from the Falmouth area with "potentially life-changing" or "life-threatening" injuries - he remains in hospital.

Police were called to reports of a collision at around 1:50am on Saturday at the roundabout junction of Bickland Hill and Conway Road.

Local officers attended the scene, along with officers from the operations department and the South Western Ambulance Service Trust.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"Police investigating a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving an electrically-assisted pedal cycle in Falmouth are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"As a result of the collision, a man in his 30s, from the Falmouth area, sustained potentially life-changing or life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated at Derriford Hospital.

"The police would like anyone who witnessed the incident, has any information or dashcam footage, and who has not already been in contact with officers at the scene, to come forward. Please email [email protected] or call 101, quoting log number 0097 of 05/02/22."
