Man dies on luxury cruise docked in Falmouth

Local News by The Editor 16th Sep 2021

A man has died on a luxury cruise ship currently docked in Queen's Wharf, Falmouth.

It is suspected that the man was the ship's doctor, although this has not been confirmed.

A police spokesperson told Nub News:

"Police were called at around 11am on Friday 29 May to a ship called The World which had docked at Queen's Wharf, Falmouth, on Monday 25 May, with reports that a member of staff had died on board.

"A 57-year-old man of Colombian nationality was sadly pronounced deceased."

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and his next-of-kin have been informed."

All residents, passengers (guests) and non-essential crew were disembarked by March 20th, 2020.

MS The World usually has a max passenger capacity of 200, plus 280 staff-crew and 12 decks (of which 7 have staterooms).

There is no indication of when the ship will be active again.
