Learn more about the history of John Passmore Edwards and his impact on Falmouth
On Wednesday the 29th of March there will be an illustrated talk celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Cornish-born philanthropist John Passmore Edwards.
The talk will be held at Falmouth Library which was originally funded by Edwards after he was presented with the honourary freedom of the borough of Falmouth, he said due to the towns surrounding of water he would build a lighthouse but the council decided they would rather have a library.

The free talk at the library will be held by Dean Evans who has created a website dedicated to the history and legacy of John Passmore Edwards, there will also be cream tea and scones after the talk.
