Images were captured over Falmouth this week as Royal Navy Hawk fast jets from RNAS Culdrose's 736 Naval Air Squadron took to a training exercise above Cornwall.
The pilots of the streamlined training aircraft play the role of the enemy and pretend to attack Royal Navy and NATO ships in the English Channel.
A spokesperson for RNAS Culdrose said:
"This provides excellent training for the ships' companies to practice their anti-air-attack and anti-missile manoeuvres.
"They also test the capabilities of fighter controllers to coordinate a response to incoming hostile aircraft.
"The jets of the maritime adversary squadron passed over the harbour at Falmouth on their way back to the air station at Helston. One pilot even managed a stylish selfie from the cockpit, high above the clouds."
