Penryn Town Council has announced how Remembrance Sunday will be marked this weekend following the latest government guidance.

It was confirmed that Remembrance Sunday events were allowed to go ahead this weekend but will look totally different this year.

On the plans, a spokesperson for Penryn Town Council said:

"A small event will take place on Sunday 8th November in the Memorial Garden, to ensure the Council complies with the guidance the event has been limited to invited guests, the guests are representatives of the armed forces, services and the Council.

"To ensure social distancing is maintained, the Council invites any members of the public/community who wish to lay additional wreaths etc, to lay them after Noon on the day of the event.

"We are very sorry that due to the pandemic, the Council is unable to invite as many organisations and people as usual, please keep safe."
