Hotel Meudon in Mawnan Smith has revealed a new pop-up event series celebrating the culinary expertise of brilliant local guest chefs from around Cornwall.

The unique dining experiences will see picturesque locations within the grounds of the hotel transformed into magical open-air restaurants.

The inaugural event launches on Wednesday 28th June 2023 with Rupert Cooper of Philleigh Way Cookery School as he takes guests on a gastronomic journey at secluded Bream Cove. Bringing his unparalleled passion for food to the grounds of Hotel Meudon, Rupert will embrace the primal elements, cooking a seafood banquet of locally caught lobster and fresh fish. Using the heat and flames to infuse the day's catch with delicious smoky flavour, this event will celebrate Rupert's unwavering commitment to cooking over an open fire.

With the evening beginning at Hotel Meudon, guests will be served a canapé starter prepared by new Head Chef David Waters before making their way down through the Jurassic Park-style gardens to the beach. Here, diners will be greeted by the aroma of the open fire and gentle sea breeze as Rupert prepares the main course feast of perfectly seared seafood with sides of grilled asparagus, fennel salad, and focaccia.

The hotel's beachside Bream Box will open its hatch for the bar service, with drinks available to purchase throughout the evening, and just before the night draws in, those with a sweet tooth can indulge in a delicious dessert thanks to the hotel's head chef and his team.
