A new historical walking tour has been launched this week in Falmouth.

The tour, Falmouth Uncovered, aims to be an accessible way for visitors to learn more about the town and its history.

The guide behind the tour, Will Hazell, said:

"Falmouth has a special story to tell. I've always been interested in researching local history wherever I've lived, but I've never been somewhere as fascinating as Falmouth."

The tour focuses on Falmouth's origin story and looks at how it grew from an insignificant hamlet into a world-famous maritime hotspot.

There's also a focus on some of the more dramatic events that

occurred in the town, including a murder, a punch-up in a chapel, and the arrival of some unfortunate cannibals.

Will is currently leading tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but hopes to add more days as the summer moves on.

"I think there's currently a demand for both stimulating experiences and the great, well-ventilated outdoors, so I'm feeling optimistic," he added
