Next month an event will be held in Penryn to celebrate the strength and talent of women in football, on and off the field.

'Her Game' aims to create a vibrant and inclusive space for women who love football, promoting camaraderie, skill development, and community support.

The event has been exclusively designed for women over the age of 10 but is open to experienced players and beginners.

One of the organisers behind the event, Jess Hill Thompson, explained the inspiration behind the event. Jess said: "I've always been passionate about football, and I plan to pursue coaching after university.

"When I was entering my teenage years I found it very difficult to motivate myself to play any type of sport, thus giving it up altogether. That was one of my biggest regrets and I know a lot of girls today are feeling the same, even those who are older now.

"Getting back into exercise can be extremely difficult, therefore I want to offer women and girls who are in the same boat to come together for just a couple of hours to socialise, learn new skills, get active, and just have fun.

The day will be filled with football activities, charity raffles, a live DJ, and food from The Little Greek Grill. It will take place on the 13 August at the Flexi Sports Centre on Penryn Campus, starting at 1:30PM.

The charity raffle will be supporting the charity Women In Sport and has an impressive selection of prizes donated from Cornish businesses.

Every penny raised through the purchase of raffle tickets will directly benefit women in sports, empowering them to reach their full potential.
