Harbour Lights Fish and Chips has been listed in the top 10 best Fish and Chip Restaurants in the UK by Fry Magazine.

While the magazine picked its top 50 Fish and Chip takeaways, they also included a more exclusive list with just 10 restaurants chosen, the popular Chip shop in Falmouth can be proud to be included.

Established in 1999, Fry Magazine is the leading trade publication for the fish and chip shop sector, delivering all news and reviews from within the industry, in 2012, they launched their very first competition - 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways, a nationwide search to find the fish and chip shops that stand out, based on food quality, customers service and appearance.

With more than 500 shops now battling for the title they have since grown the awards to include two further categories - 10 Best Fish & Chip Restaurants and 10 Best Mobile Operators.

Mystery judges go into chip shops unannounced and secretly rate a host of aspects including the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the premises, staff knowledge, value for money, ease of ordering, and social media presence.

Fellow Cornish chippies joined Harbour lights in the list as Seasmiths Fish and Chips from Wadebridge were included in the top ten restaurants while Greg & Lou's in Redruth was included in the 50 best fish and chip takeaways.

Earlier this month The Habrour Lights teamed picked up another accolade as they were nominated as one of the top 3 most sustainable fish and chip shops in the UK at the National Fish and Chip Awards hosted by the National Federation of Fish Friers - NFFF.

The restaurant shared the news on social media and said: "A great chippie in Belfast actually won - Fish City, but that still made us the most sustainable chippie in England. So happy for all the Harbour Lights team that work so hard to minimise the effects of our operations on the environment.
