The Greenbank's Executive Chef Nick Hodges is getting families in Cornwall cooking creatively during lockdown.
Nick's Community Kitchen is a series of interactive cooking demos streamed live on The Greenbank's Facebook channel - a way for the popular hotel in Falmouth to spread some positivity and free cookery classes from their talented Executive Chef.
After the government announced a lockdown style method for beating Coronavirus, one hotel in Falmouth had the idea to keep Cornwall active in the kitchen.
Headed up by Executive Chef Nick Hodges who works across The Greenbank in Falmouth, The Alverton in Truro and The Penventon in Redruth, thousands of followers on Facebook have been tuning in for inspiring videos live and direct from Nick's kitchen.
From leftover breakfast pasties to Thai-inspired fishcakes and chocolate tiffin, Nick's aim is to give the people of Cornwall and further afield some fresh ideas for using up store cupboard ingredients and fresh leftovers amid the coronavirus crisis.
Nick Hodges, Executive Chef, said:
"We wanted to create something fun for parents and their children to do whilst they're off school, to keep the kids entertained and the adults occupied during the lockdown. With the aim of filming every Monday, Wednesday and Friday live from my kitchen, I'll be demonstrating new recipes to share from my family to yours."
"The idea is to share tips on how to use all your old bits and pieces from the fridge and keep it cheap and cheerful, from that random tin of chickpeas in the back of the cupboard to supporting our local fisherman with creative fish dishes to shake up your weekly menu."
The fun and engaging videos are available to watch on The Greenbank's Facebook page, where you can watch live and ask Nick questions as he cooks! Click here to watch.
