Perranwell Station at 04/08/2019 07:47Two pumping appliances from Falmouth and Truro, an Aerial Ladder Platform from Truro and a wholetime officer were mobilised to a grain dryer on fire.
On arrival, crews discovered a 30 tonne grain dryer to be on fire and proceeded to fight the fire using two breathing apparatus, two main jets, one hose reel jet, one triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera.
UPDATE - 08:31 - MAKE PUMPS 3
An additional pumping appliance from Truro was mobilised upon request from the crews on scene. Firefighters are currently formulating a plan to remove the corn from the dryer. A welfare vehicle from St Dennis has also been sent to the incident. FURTHER UPDATE - 09:21 - MAKE PUMPS 4 and WATER CARRIERS 1An additional pumping appliance from St Austell, a water carrier from Helston, an incident command unit from St Just and a second wholetime officer have now been sent to the scene of operations.
