Swim England and the RNLI will be holding Swim Safe events over August for children aged 7-14.

The Falmouth inshore lifeboat team has been working hard all summer, this included their busiest May on record. Some of the callouts have involved paddleboarders and others taking part in water-based activities being caught up in strong winds.

As well as reminding adult residents of the dangers on social media the RNLI wants to help teach youngsters how to swim safely and how to deal with potentially life-threatening situations.

The events will take place at 9 am on Sundays at Swanpool Beach. The free 45 min sessions will teach kids how to stay safe in and around open water and what to do if they, or someone else, gets into difficulty - including their float-to-live advice.

The next sessions available to book are on the 13, 20, and 27 August.
