A flood warning has been issued with areas in Falmouth and Penryn set to be affected by high waves and strong winds.
The warning is in place for the three morning high tides from Friday (12th) to Sunday (14th).
The Gov.uk flood information service says that the communities, particularly at risk, include Mevagissey, Port Mellon, Maenporth and low lying property in the areas of the Helford Estuary and Penryn River.
The alert goes onto read:
"Times of high water will vary along the coast. Near gale force southeasterly winds combined with 4m high waves and spring tides may cause flooding and wave overtopping of low lying coastal areas exposed to southeasterly storms.
"Expect tides to be around 200mm higher than predicted on tide timetables due to weather conditions. The evening high tides between Friday and Sunday are lower, therefore we are not expecting flooding impacts from these tides.
"From Monday onwards the tide levels begin to decrease. Keep up to date with weather and tide conditions on local radio."
