Road works on Webber Street start tomorrow to help reduction of sewage overflow

Back in January, it was announced that South West Water (SWW) would be undertaking the installation of a new telemetry ducting and also the placing of two new small monitoring control kiosks on Market Street, High Street, and Webber Street across February and March.

The work being done will give SWW advanced notice of the sewer system in key areas to help with the reduction of storm discharges into the water. The telemetry ducting will collect data which will then be sent back to SWW.

Market Street and High street have now both been completed and the work on Webber Street will now start tomorrow, Thursday the 2nd of March. SWW will be laying new telemetry ducting and building a small control kiosk base. Access to the town centre will still be maintained now via High Street.

Town manager Richard Gates accepted that this will clearly create some challenges due to the work being done during the day even though the Town team pushed for the work to be done at night.

These works will be undertaken by Glanville Environmental on behalf of South West Water. Richard Gates and the Falmouth Town team have asked that if people have any questions either before or during these works they have direct contact.
