The National Maritime Museum, Falmouth, has announced its reopening date and the "essential measures" that will be put in place.

In line with the government's roadmap out of lockdown, the museum plans to reopen on Monday 17th May.

However, the museum, on Discovery Quay, will be closed Tuesday 1st – Thursday 17th June for the G7 Leaders' Summit.

The museum will be open as usual each day from 10am to 5pm (last entry is 3.30pm).

To stagger entry and help maintain social distancing the museum has introduced timed arrival slots. Every visitor to the museum will need to pre-book their slot, including members and valid Annual Pass holders.

"We ask that to help maintain social distancing you do not arrive before your time slot. If you arrive after your time slot we may not be able to allow you entry. If you are displaying any of the symptoms of Coronavirus (Covid-19) please save your visit for another time," the museum added in a statement today.

The Maritime Museum also released further information on face coverings, one way system, food and drink, and the gift shop.
