A snow and ice warning has been issued for Falmouth and the surrounding area.
The alert is in place for 11 hours from midnight on Thursday until 11pm the following morning, icy patches and wintry showers may cause some travel disruption.
What to expect
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The Met Office added:
"Icy patches are likely to develop on some surfaces as showers spread from the English Channel into parts of southwest England. Some places will miss these showers and remain dry.
"Where showers do occur inland they will fall as snow, especially over the hills and moors.
"Meanwhile, in coastal areas, showers are more likely to fall as a mixture of rain, sleet and snow and any accumulations of snow will be much smaller and patchier in nature."
