A Falmouth vets has started the year with a bang by celebrating three milestones.

Rosemullion Veterinary Hospital based on Tregoniggie Industrial Estate recently received confirmation that they have achieved Hospital Accreditation under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme; they have been awarded Gold Standard status as a cat-friendly practice by the ISFM and their headcount has now reached a century.

The hospital accreditation is quite an achievement to accomplish within one month of relocating from their old site - which they had occupied for 35 years.

The Practice Standards Scheme sees a rigorous assessment every four years - practices meet a range of minimum standards including hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, staff training, certain types of equipment, and cost estimation procedures.

There was also a gold status awarded for the vets as a cat friendly practice. The programme is designed to create more cat friendly veterinary clinics and reduce the stress for cats and make veterinary visits easier for cat owners as well.

Head Nurse Vicky Musk told Nub News:

"I'm incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the last few months. We could not have done this without a dedicated and amazing team spirit, lots of humour, the willingness to support each other in moments of stress and anxiety, the support and enthusiasm of our wonderful clients, and the dedication of the practice leadership team who worked extraordinarily hard to keep everything and everyone on an even keel."
