Each year Falmouth's Town Mayor chooses a charity to support and this year, following his election to serve for a second year in office, Steve Eva has called on local charities to nominate themselves for financial support.
It was identified that this year would be particularly challenging for local charities to raise funds during the Covid19 Pandemic.
As a result, the Town Mayor decided nominations would help him to decide which local cause he could make a real difference to during this difficult time.
Town Mayor Councillor Steve Eva stated:
"All the nominations I received were extremely worthy local causes, therefore, it has been a difficult decision however after researching each application I am delighted to announce that I have chosen to support Sasha Would've Loved It.
"My reason for choosing this charity is because all funds raised go towards Cornish teenagers fighting cancer by providing experiences, adventures and fun so for a short time they can forget their problems and in my mind, this is something I can and will be proud to support."
Michelle Bray, founder of the charity said:
"The team are so proud and pleased at being chosen as the Mayor's charity and are excited to work with him to make a difference to Cornish teenagers fighting cancer"
The Town Mayor will raise funds throughout the civic year which will solely benefit Sasha Would've Loved it.
