Four Press & Editorial Photography Falmouth University students have been shortlisted for the UK Picture Editors Guild Awards, to be held in London on 9 March 2020.

Second-year students Cameron Smith, Callum Yates and Luke Cameron are nominated for the Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year award. The Press & Editorial students were the only students out of all universities in the UK to become finalists; which means that the top prize will go to one of them.

Third-year student, Neal Megaw, is one of three finalists in the Video Journalist of the Year category, up against some of the finest professional talents in the country.

Course Leader Gretchen Viehmann shared her pride in the students:

"To describe us as over the moon about this would be a tremendous understatement! Cameron, Callum and Luke are the only nominees selected for the student category. And Neal is in a professional category selected alongside some of the UK's best multimedia storytellers. We wish them all lots of luck for the awards ceremony in March."

More than four hundred photographers entered over two thousand pictures in this year's UK Picture Editors Guild Awards.

The awards are judged by working picture editors from national and regional newspapers and international photo agencies.
