Last month I got in touch with Alex Brinnen, campaigner and chair of the committee for the Skatepark project, we discussed how the campaign started all those years ago, what challenges they still face, and how people in the community can help them reach their target for funding.

(You can read all about it here: All you need to know about the Falmouth Skatepark Project.)

Now the team behind the project has as managed to launch a new Crowdfunder to do just that, on the page they explain why the last bit of funding is so important: "We are already partially funded and need to raise a further £38,000 to unlock our final fund stream to actually build the dream of a large open-flow skatepark for all ages and abilities to use for wheeled sports.

"We have funding applications in for small local pots and need to raise £20,000 of this amount from our Crowdfunder. Your money will demonstrate community support and be used for the build, real-life physical parts of the park."

For those of you that do want to support the project, there are a number of rewards on offer for donating, £20 could get you an official Falmouth Skate Park T-shirt while a donation of £90 could get you 4 DJ lessons by a legendary local.

There is even the opportunity for those donating a larger amount to sponsor a tree or bench around the skatepark with the option to have your name on a plaque. Whoever donates the largest amount will have the honour of cutting the ribbon at the grand opening.

If any schools or groups would like to raise money for the project you can also set up a fundraiser with the money going directly to the skatepark project.
