Strong winds have resulted in the cancellation of performances at Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival this evening.

The bad weather sees the closure of Church Street Stage, The Pier Stage, and Events Square.

There will be no performances at those stages this evening.

All indoor venues are running their programmes as scheduled along with Custom House Quay and The Greenbank Stage.

"The wind speeds are such that we must consider your safety first," a spokesperson for Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival added.
