Falmouth School students recently won 1st prize in two age categories at the Young People's Art Prize ran by Newlyn and The Exchange Gallery.
The theme this year was, "What is your Issue?" which provided some inspirational pieces.
Art teacher at Falmouth School, Rowena Tarplee, said:
"A huge well done must go to everyone. We are extremely proud of the talents of our artists and the creativity of students of Falmouth School."
In what is a highly regarded competition there were many entries from schools across Cornwall, with a high number of Falmouth School students catching the eye.
Roberta Jenkins took the top spot in the 11-13 category with her mixed media piece called "Protest". Eva Reid, Zoe Leonard and Ava Rudolph were also shortlisted in this category.
Gabriel Higgins took first place in the 14-16 category with his painting. Grace Bennett, Phoebe Hulme and Tegan Underwood were also shortlisted in this category.
Because the Newlyn and Exchange Galleries are currently closed the gallery plan to exhibit the shortlisted and winning work online in a virtual gallery, which you can view or their website or Facebook page.
