In November the Falmouth Salvation Army launched its Christmas Toy Appeal - to ensure every child within a family in need in the local area receives a present on Christmas Day.

Fast forward to this week and The Family Workers from the local Children's Centres have been into the church and chosen toys to help the families they are working with, along with other agencies.

The Salvation Army were also able to provide every family with a food parcel.

The Mayor of Falmouth, Steve Eva called in with bags of toys purchased from The Works (who support the Toy Appeal every year).

The Salvation Army praised the work of the "amazing volunteers" who served refreshments, made up food parcels, loaded up cars and wrapped the toys.

Church minister Andrew Hammond told Nub News:

"We continue to be overwhelmed by the donations and support we receive from so many members of the public and businesses across the Falmouth community. In 2017 we introduced the Christmas Toy Appeal with the goal of ensuring every child in Falmouth within a family in need referred to us, receives a present on Christmas Day.

"Our appeal has continued to be very well supported and in addition to toys we are delighted to provide each family with a food and toiletry parcel."
