Last month Premier Falmouth, in collaboration with the RNLI, held a Sea Safety Evening.

The informal evening, hosted at the UpperDeck Restaurant, attracted thirty-five guests who had their practical questions answered and gained further knowledge on how they could improve their chance of survival when falling into cold water.

The talk delivered by Tim Goldburn, from the RNLI included a question and answer session which opened up the conversation on the types of life-jackets on the market; the key equipment that makes up a life-jacket, accessories to buy to increase longevity and how the arming mechanism in life jackets has an expiry date.

Falmouth RNLI posted on their Facebook page:

"A big thank you to Falmouth Marina for raising £175 for the RNLI during a water safety evening run by Falmouth RNLI Water Safety Team for the Marina's berth holders at the Marina's Upper Deck Restaurant recently."

The cheque was presented to Falmouth RNLI Guild Treasurer Michele Sidebotham and Coxswain Jonathon Blakeston by Mel Armstrong from Falmouth Marina at the Lifeboat Station.
