Saturday evening RNLI were tasked by the Falmouth Coastguard following a call from a boat taking on water.

A small boat with two persons on board reported taking water while in the Carrick Roads off Mylor Harbour. A nearby yacht responded to the Coastguards call and proceeded to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from the slipway at 18:25 and headed up the Carrick Roads arriving on scene at 18:31.

The boat was secured alongside the Inshore Lifeboat and the vessel was towed to the slipway in Mylor Harbour where it was safely moored at 18:50.

The ingress of water is believed to have been associated with the engine and ceased when it was turned off.

The yacht had stood by the boat until the arrival of the Inshore Lifeboat.
