Falmouth fell to a heavy 40-0 away defeat at the hands of Kingsbridge in the Tribute Western Counties West League on Saturday.

Despite the score being 7-0 at half time The Eagles couldn't keep the pressure on in the second half.

Director of Rugby, Graham Whitmore, spoke to reporter Kevin Bishop after the match:

"We were delighted with the performance in the first half, I thought we were excellent, we dominated a lot of field position and a lot of territory and dominated a lot of possession.

"Unfortunately in the final third of the field, we didn't convert the pressure and we had many opportunities to do so but to come away at half time conceding the try five minutes or so before half time was tough but a valiant effort first half and we went into the second half with high spirits.

"They proved to be a well worthy side in the second half and they came away with a really good win."

Falmouth team: R. Thomas, O. Evans, R. Coote, J. Wilson, N. Carne. K. Rodda, S. Thomas, T. Simmons, T. Spiller, R. Cooper, T. Whittle, J. Martin, D. Burroughs, A. Bullock, A. Searle.

Falmouth will welcome Honiton next, an important fixture with Honiton only one place below The Eagles in the table.
