Falmouth residents warned over fake vaccination messages.

A warning has been issued by the police to residents in Falmouth, Penryn and beyond after reports of fake vaccination texts going around.

A fake text alerts from the NHS is sent to the recipient saying that they are eligible to apply for a vaccine and followed by a link - the link is in fact a convincing fake NHS website.

The text asks for personal and financial information, "please do not respond," Devon and Cornwall Police said.

A police spokesperson added:

"The NHS would never ask for your banking information.

"If you have clicked and supplied your details please phone your bank/building society immediately on a telephone number from a reliable source (if any financial information has been passed) and report to Action Fraud.

"Please pass this information on."
