Falmouth Remembrance Sunday: Town Council reveals details ahead of remembrance events

Falmouth Town Council has revealed details ahead of Remembrance Sunday next month.

The first poppy laying will be held at the War Memorial in Kimberley Park on Saturday 30th October at 10:45am. The last post will be played at 11am.

On Thursday 11th November there will be a two-minute silence at the St Nazaire Memorial, Prince of Wales Pier. Meet at 10:50am for the Two Minutes Silence at 11am.

Then on Sunday 14th November will be the Sunday parade and service at Kimberley Park.

The full schedule for Remembrance Sunday is as follows:

09:45am - Civic Party to assemble at Atherton Suite, The Old Post Office, The Moor for light refreshments.

10:25am - Assemble on the Moor Piazza under Parade Marshal directions.

10:35am - Depart the Moor for the parade to Kimberley Park.

11:00am - Service conducted by the Mayor's Chaplain Canon Bill Stuart White at the War Memorial including two minutes silence and wreath-laying.

11:30am - Parade departs Kimberley Park for return to the Moor for march past and salute by the Town Mayor.

11:35am - Parade disperses for reception at the Atherton Suite.

Should the Remembrance Sunday event be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions or advice from public health a decision will be made by midday on Friday 12th November.

Details will be publicised on the Town Council website and social media.

Covid measures will still be in place, masks indoors, social distancing and hand sanitiser.

Spaces will be allocated at Kimberley Park with marshals present.
