Falmouth Reggae Festival was bouncing on Saturday night as large-scale music events returned to the Princess Pavilion.

Now in its fifth year, the festival is a family-friendly event with over 1,000 people turning out to enjoy various stages, stalls, and street food.

The festival has been out of action for a little while due to the coronavirus pandemic, but returned Saturday (2nd) with a jam-packed day of events.

Kicking off at 12pm, the festival opened with music from Raggadee (Garden Room), Jak Mix (Theatre of Dub), and Innereyefull (Garden Stage).

There was music going on throughout the day with Indian Billy, 1618 Sounds, Salix, and The Barefoot Band amongst the performers.

This was all a fine build up to the main and closing acts, Hollie Cook (Garden Stage) and Mad Professor (Theatre of Dub).

A fantastic, energetic day open to everybody, following the event, co-founder and partner of the event Thomas Merritt added:

"The noise levels were very closely monitored and both of our extremely experienced engineers both said the levels were below what they could have been, it's an outside gig if you live next door you will hear it.

"The Princess Pavilion wouldn't look to be doing full site gigs every weekend but I think people need to understand it needs to do around 5 big ones (whatever the type of music) a year to be successful.

"There was 0 antisocial behaviour and 0 reports of anything negative happening. the music outside finished at exactly 22:30pm. We support local trade and a lot of local events people depend on the work.

"We hope to build a diverse programme with something for everyone. Yes, the reggae festival is a personal project of mine it's been nothing but a lovely gig with amazing people. Not once have security ever had to throw anyone out.

"Thank you to everyone that supported. The entire area has been litter picked and is probably now cleaner than prior to the event."
