Falmouth police officers dive into reservoir to rescue teenager

Three police officers from Falmouth have been praised for their heroic actions after diving into deep waters to rescue a teenager.

The incident took place in Stithians Reservoir at around 4.30pm yesterday (21st May).

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Concern was raised for the welfare of a teenage girl seen in the water.

"Officers entered the water and were able to help the girl to the shoreline.

"She was subsequently left in the care of mental health professionals."

Details of the incident were also revealed on social media by Supt Adrian Leisk, Local Policing Area Commander for West Cornwall, he said:

"Three officers from Falmouth and a Cornwall Dogs handler entered deep water at Stithians Reservoir to save the life of a vulnerable female. She is now safe and receiving treatment. Heroes, who consistently put others before themselves."
