Falmouth Town Council has today warned residents that they may be forced to close play areas after seeing consistent breaching of social distancing.

A spokesperson for the council said:

"Falmouth Town Council officers have been monitoring the use of our play areas and despite their efforts to increase people's awareness, unfortunately there are constant breaches of the social distancing guidance issued by the government.

"We very much want Falmouth's residents and visitors to enjoy the play areas and stay healthy so our officers are issuing a final appeal to the public to take the guidance seriously.

"Our officers will continue to monitor the situation and if the situation doesn't improve immediately we will be forced to shut all of our play facilities.

"Your actions matter to everybody."

The council recently reminded residents that dogs are not to be let in to their playgrounds.
