St Michaels Falmouth is aiming to free up more space for guests with new parking fees.

The charges were introduced on Saturday 28th May.

A new sign states that parking fees now apply between 9am-3pm 7 days a week and hotel visitors only outside of those times.

The changes at St Michaels are to free up more space for guests.

Health club members have voiced their concerns about the limited parking spaces on nearby roads.

One person said on social media they had cancelled their membership.

"Some people have mobility issues and they go to keep themselves mobile……a short walk for some can be a challenge," another commented.

A spokesperson for St Michaels told Nub News:

"To ensure car parking space is available to resort guests. The car park has often been used by non-residents and those visiting Gyllyngvase Beach, limiting space for those who have travelled to stay at the resort.

"Our valued health club members and spa visitors are welcome to use the car park between the hours of 9am-3pm but parking charges will apply.

"There are several nearby roads that are free to park and just a short walk from St Michaels, we encourage members to use these where possible."
