Popular Falmouth bar and nightclub Mangos has secured permission to redesign the front of the building.

The final decision has been subject to a lengthy planning process with the original plans being outlined in March.

Falmouth Town Council's planning committee labelled the plans in March as "dreadful", and it was knocked back again in May.

However, plans were resubmitted in June and conditional approval was granted last week (23rd) to do up the front of the building.

Having been given the green light, Mangos, Church Street can go ahead with new advertising, wall lanterns, digitally printed displays, and colour changing floodlights.

In their new submission, the applicant wrote:

"I spoke with councillor Spargo from Falmouth Town Council after he raised some concerns with our initial proposal.

"The issue was specifically with the previously proposed corrugated steel effect printed vinyl we proposed to the first-floor windows, after some consultation and various other proposals, all were deemed unsuitable and refused.

"We have simply proposed to apply plain frosted vinyl panels to the first-floor windows to obscure the unsightly internal breezeblock wall from view at street level."

One of the conditions from the planning officer reads, "any advertisement displayed, and any site used for the display of

advertisements, shall be retained in a condition that does not impair the visual amenity of the site."
