A man has been found dead in the Maenporth area early this morning following a police search overnight.

Police were called at around 11.40pm on Sunday (2nd) with a report for the welfare of a man from Falmouth.

A coastguard helicopter was tasked to search the coastline.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Nub News:

"A man in his 20s from Falmouth was sadly located deceased at around 6am this morning, Monday (3rd), in the Maenporth area.

"Enquiries continue including locating and informing next-of-kin. His death is not being treated as suspicious at this time."
