A man in his 40s has sadly died after being pulled from the sea at Gyllyngvase Beach yesterday evening (14th).

Emergency services surrounded Gylly Beach in Falmouth at around 6:50pm with a police cordon placed on the beach.

In an update by Devon and Cornwall Police this afternoon, a man in his 40s was confirmed deceased at the scene, with the next of kin informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A cordon was put in place with the air ambulance landing on the field just above the beach, at around 7:30pm.

Police and coastguard teams were also in attendance.

A witness said they could see emergency services administering CPR, and the person was taken straight to hospital.
