Falmouth lifeboat launch after reports of a missing child

At 16:38, Sunday 16th February, Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a report of a missing child between Castle Beach and Pendennis Point in Falmouth. The Police and the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked to assist with the search.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 16:44 and arrived off Pendennis Point at 16:48 to commence its search.

The All-Weather Lifeboat was manned by 16:48 and was in the process of departing its pontoon berth at 16:50 when the Coastguard advised both lifeboats that the child had been located safe and well on Castle Drive.

The All-Weather Lifeboat was secured back alongside its pontoon berth by 16:52. The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway by 16:59, where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 17:10.
