Yesterday afternoon the Falmouth Lifeboat crew was mobilised following reports of a casualty near Swanpool.

The lifeboat was launched at around 3:30pm to Stack Point near Swanpool, to assist Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team and Ambulance Paramedics with the evacuation of a casualty.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Lifeboat Station said:

"The volunteer crew made their way across Falmouth Bay to Pennance Point.

"Soon after arriving it was confirmed that the casualty had been recovered from the water and was in the care of the services on land.

"At 3:50pm the Inshore Lifeboat was stood down."
