A small charity based in Falmouth, that aims to increase access and enjoyment of education for everyone, has started a children's book appeal for Falmouth Library.

The charity is called Widespread Learning and has previously been involved in projects such as collecting school supplies and English language workshops for refugees in Calais and also delivering learning packs during the covid lockdowns.

Roxanne Isabella who runs the charity has started the book appeal in loving memory of her mum Pat Green who recently died of cancer. Roxanne shared how much of a passionate reader he mum was, Roxanne said: "She loved books and found reading an escapism during her chemotherapy time."

The library is looking for children's books in good condition that will either go on their shelves for people to enjoy or they will be given away to children to take home.

Roxanne has asked that those looking to donate books will contact the charity to arrange collections or drop-offs of the books.
