Falmouth-based St Michaels Resort was the proud recipient of two Silver awards at last night's South West Tourism Awards, which recognise the region's best tourism businesses.

The luxury resort, which underwent a total transformation and re-launch in 2018, was the only Cornish property in the Large Hotel of the Year and Spa & Wellbeing Experience of the Year categories after taking home Gold for both at the Cornwall Tourism Awards in November 2019.

The ceremony was held at Exeter Cathedral on Thursday 6th February 2020, with a record turnout for the annual event. It saw 107 awards presented following a rigorous judging process, in which 773 entries were considered.

Resort Director for St Michaels Resort, Louise Uys-Jones, said:

"We are thrilled to have come away with two Silver accolades, it's the icing on the cake after our success at the Cornwall Tourism Awards in November."

"To be recognised as one of the top players in the region's tourism industry is an honour and testament to our hard-working staff who are at the heart of our resort. The excitement can be felt across the whole team and we can't wait to celebrate together."

St Michaels Resort has become one of Cornwall's pre-eminent resort hotels after its multi-million-pound transformation in 2018. This included a new destination spa, state-of-the-art health club with a wide-ranging wellness offering, two unique restaurants and coastal-inspired bedrooms in The Beach House.
