A pub in Flushing has announced a temporary closure after a staff member began to show symptoms of covid.

The Royal Standard, based on St Peter's Road, will be closed for the next "few days" as they await results from their PCR tests.

"Unfortunately it doesn't matter how careful you are," the pub said, announcing the news.

A pub spokesperson added:

"We have to close our doors for a few days in order to keep all staff and customers safe.

"We hope you understand and we will keep you posted."
