A safer crossing could be introduced on Swanpool Hill - and views are being sought in a consultation.

Cornwall Council is exploring crossing improvements at the base of Swanpool Hill Falmouth where cars are known to go fast.

The consultation reads: "Provision of a pedestrian refuge at the base of Swanpool Hill, this pedestrian refuge is intended to create a safe crossing point for pedestrians at the base of the hill where traffic is generally fast moving.

"In addition to the construction of a refuge in the road, the crossing points on either side of the road will also be widened to create a larger area for pedestrians to wait to cross and a larger area for them to land on when at the other side."

The scheme originated from Cornwall Council and the local highway manager who identified the need for an improved crossing in the area.

The consultation ends on August 17th.
