The second Falmouth business to close in a matter of days, Pennycomequick, after staff members reported having caught coronavirus.

The pub, based on Killigrew Street, announced the closure yesterday evening (4th), saying they were "very sad" to have to make the decision.

Pennycomequick follows INDIdog in temporarily closing, as the restaurant said this week they would be closed due to similar reasons.

In a notice to customers, Pennycomequick said:

"It's been pretty amazing that we haven't had to write this sooner, but we have shut because a couple of members of our staff have caught coronavirus.

"Due to the inevitable we are now closed, we're very sad and very sorry. We plan to reopen again Monday 9th August. We're currently in the process of contacting all our bookings by calling, texting, and emailing.

"If you have a booking and we haven't contacted you, shoot us a message or email us at [email protected] and we can try and rearrange your booking.

"If you want to book for next week onwards, email, don't call us because no one is in the pub right now but the emails are being taken care of remotely."
