The police have urged tourists to stay away half-term - avoiding unnecessary trips to Falmouth and the surrounding areas.

Devon and Cornwall Police have asked people to remain local during half term, 15th February until 19th February.

The message was issued today as the force looks to reduce pressure on the roads and the NHS.

"Devon and Cornwall will welcome you back again soon," the police said.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added:

"Please stay local at half term, Devon and Cornwall will welcome you back soon.

"Officers are working hard to keep communities safe from covid-19.

"We need to reduce pressure on our roads, on the NHS & prevent the spread of the virus. Visit Devon and Cornwall another time."
