Falmouth councillors were out yesterday afternoon (14th) delivering covid tests to local businesses.

Another 150 boxes of the tests were distributed - 1050 tests in total.

The council and BID are taking a proactive response following a serious spike in covid cases within the town - 137 cases as of today (15th), in Falmouth, Penryn, and Mabe.

The initiative has been welcomed by local businesses, an "overwhelmingly positive response" as they take action to help control the covid spike.

Out delivering the tests yesterday were deputy mayor Councillor Kirstie Edwards and Jayne Kirkham, Cornwall Councillor for Falmouth Penwerris.

Councillor Edwards posted on social media:

"Me, my sidekick and Jayne Kirkham whipped around the remaining businesses down events square, Arwenack and all the way to St George's arcade. Another 150 boxes, 1050 tests were delivered to help our local businesses out.

"Today was hot and incredibly busy and everyone seemed grateful to have one less thing to do. Stay safe Falmouth."
