A group of mums from Falmouth Community Youth Football Club played Truro City Youth mums in a charity match at Falmouth School's 3G pitch on Sunday (2 July), raising £420 for Young People Cornwall.
The mums formed a team called Falmouth Flamingoes - following the success of the parents vs coaches match earlier this year. The ladies have been training over the last few months, coached by Martin and Eli Snell.
Young People Cornwall, the charity receiving the money, aims to engage, inspire, and support young people across the county.
The match ended 5-2 to Truro, but those in attendance said everyone had great fun and the atmosphere from the sidelines was electric, encouraging everyone on the pitch.
Club Chairperson Janine Kennedy said "It was an incredible match to be a part of with some inspiring and wonderful women. Most of the mums stepped out of their comfort zone and tried something new and fully embraced the challenge.
"The whole experience was made more comfortable by the expert coaching of Martin and Eli- and also our new socks from Parade."
Falmouth mums wore the club kit and neon pink socks which were kindly sponsored by Helen from Parade shop in the High Street.
The match was refereed by the club's girls' Representative Andrew Jenkin, and there was a cake stall run by the girl's team.
Falmouth Flamingoes will next be playing Perranporth Ladies on Tuesday 18 July at 7pm on Posers field.
