Falmouth Community Fire Station has urged residents to try and avoid bonfires and fireworks at home this year.

Falmouth Fire Station's annual firework display was cancelled due to Coronavirus.

Issuing advice ahead of Bonfire Night, a spokesperson said:

"Unfortunately this year Falmouth Fire Station's annual firework display has been cancelled due to Coronavirus.

"You might be tempted to have bonfires and fireworks at home but we are advising against this as it can result in painful injuries for many people, including young children.

"However, if you're planning a bonfire at home this year, make sure the occasion is fun and safer for everyone by watching our bonfire night safety video."

If you're planning a bonfire inform the fire service before you start.
