Falmouth Coastguard were tasked yesterday to recover an individual from a vessel that had run aground into the mud in Tresillian.

On Sunday afternoon at close to 5pm, a vessel with one person on board was discovered aground, around 150 meters from shore.

Since the tide was so far out and the fact the individual would have been stuck until 3am, the team decided to bring him to shore.

A Falmouth Coastguard spokesperson added:

"Specialist Mud Rescue Technicians deployed to the vessel and recovered the casualty to the shore. Once complete, we stood down and returned to the station for a lengthy clean down."

The team also praised team member 'Charlie' who successfully completed her first operational mud deployment as a 'Technician' on the rescue.
