Yesterday evening (10th) the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were called out after reports three people were cut off by the tide in Maenporth.

The coastguard has reminded people to "check the tides when you go out" as this follows a similar incident from Friday when one person was almost cut off but managed to recover.

Falmouth Lifeboat Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team and a full time Senior Coastal Operations Officer S11D were tasked.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard Rescue said:

"On scene, the three lads had made their way back to the beach, although a little wet, safe and well. All oncoming units were then stood down.

"Only yesterday we put out a warning about checking the tides following a near miss in this area and the day before we were sent to another person cut off following a medical episode.

"Please check the tides when you go out. There are numerous apps out there that work on all platforms and are FREE.

"If you are in danger or spot someone in trouble, dial 999 and ask for COASTGUARD."
